    Financial Analyst

     

    The Financial Analyst will be responsible to provide timely, relevant and accurate financial operational performance data to all operating groups as needed.  In doing so, this individual will update monthly reports, track performance against projections, work with department managers to develop budgets, investigate data inconsistencies, and assist in the preparation, analysis and presentation of the monthly financial and operational reports to the executive management team.  Success will be dependent upon a wide range of skills including excellent communication skills, strong task organization skills, and a get-it-done attitude.

    Responsibilities

    • Gather, review, and consolidate financial data.
    • Investigate and explain operational and financial variances to budget.

    • Coordinate with all levels of personnel to gather and analyze financial & operational data.

    • Assist in the development of department budgets and ongoing monitoring of budget performance.

    • Generate, prepare and present detailed monthly reports of departmental budget and operational performance.

    • Analyze business plans, forecasts, departmental expenses, headcount, equipment, maintenance, and software requirements.

    • Identify and analyze expenses and cost driver trends and recommend improvements accordingly.
    • Perform other special duties and projects as directed by manager of financial analysis.

    • Serve as liaison between financial staff and operating departments.

    • Support operating departments by performing financial and operational analysis of alternatives.

    • Work with department management to realign budgets and allocate resources to best serve company needs.

    • Provide advisory support to department managers on matters pertaining to budget, accounting, resource allocation, and procedures.

    • Provide direction to department managers on appropriate finance and accounting treatment to ensure consistency.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in related major (eg: Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance).
    • 1-5 years of financial analysis experience within a world-class Finance organization.
    • Displayed ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
    • Exhibited leadership skills and strong motivation for career advancement.
    • Capable of thinking analytically and creatively.
    • Have initiative, confidence, and drive to achieve results without explicit direction or detailed instructions.
    • Strong verbal and written presentation skills.
    • Possess ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks and projects.
    • Evidence of personal and team accomplishments exhibiting pride in his/her work.
    • Demonstrated natural, tenacious curiosity about how and why things are
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Individual initiative: works with others to learn continuously, to solve unexpected problems, to break bottlenecks, to challenge the status quo.
    • Continuous improvement orientation for all he/she does.
    • Proficient with Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint.
