  • Overview

    The Desktop Support Engineer will provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will provide backup and support to the EMEA Technical Director.
    The Desktop Support Engineer will take responsibility for supporting and maintaining the desktop and mobile devices, printers, AV systems and related hardware, software and services. The Desktop Support Engineer will assist the Third Line Support Engineer in maintaining and supporting the network, server and cloud-based systems and services.
    This position provides exposure to a broad range of technology-related projects and activities and is a great opportunity to learn and develop technology skills.


    Terms of employment:


    Standard working hours are from 9:00am to 17:30pm, including a one-hour lunch break or breaks totalling one hour but as a salaried position we expect employees to work the hours to deliver in the role, managing their own time accordingly.

    • Operate and regularly update the service desk request system.
    • Provide new starters with an overview of our IT systems.
    • Support and maintain desktop, mobile and printer equipment, software and services.
    • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers.
    • Support a variety of cloud hosted systems.
    • Support A/V and video conference equipment in meeting rooms
    • Ensure the company’s IT policies and procedures are adhered to.
    • Maintain stock of essential items, such as print toners, spare keyboards, mice, etc.
    • Provide reports and recommendations to the Technical Director.
    • Update and provide user documentation.
    • Monthly checks for leavers.
    • Assist with any ad-hoc IT support requirements.
    • Managing the new starter process:
      • Order (if necessary) and set up desktop desktop.
      • Set up Email account and profiles for server systems.
      • Onboarding chat
    • 1st to 2nd line desktop and printer support.
    • Some network and server systems support and administration.
    • Organise and prioritise incoming IT support issues on the ticketing system, within SLAs
    • Record-keeping
    • Diagnosing and solving technical issues.
    • Using information effectively
    • Maintaining the IT areas and ensuring equipment is organised and tidy.


    This role requires a highly adaptable person that can act on initiative yet knows when to ask for guidance or assistance.


    • Minimum of 3 years’ face-to-face IT support experience, in creative environment.
    • Creative/media sector experience – ideally post-production, photography studios, or broadcast.
