  • Overview

    The E-Commerce Content Copywriter is responsible for producing e-commerce-optimized and brand-relevant product content for use on retailer e-commerce sites. The role requires well-demonstrated skills in these areas, solidly informed by user-centric standards.


    • Write, edit, and proof e-commerce product page content including, but not limited to, short descriptions (i.e. bulleted or abbreviated descriptions to accommodate page layout designs), long descriptions, enhanced product content (Amazon A+), banner, web page, meta descriptions, meta keywords, and title tags. May also be tasked with creating social media content.
    • Understand business requirements, analyze user and business needs, inventory existing content, and follow content standards.
    • Understand how to produce content optimized for retailer page layouts and requirements.
    • Optimize content using current SEO best practices.
    • Leverage web analytics, customer insights, and user feedback to assess content effectiveness and recommend solutions to address gaps and shortcomings.
    • Maintain content standards, including governance of content.
    • Understand and develop compliant copy for products with regulatory implications or impact.


    • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field such as Journalism, English, New Media, Communications or similar.
    • Five or more years’ experience creating and executing digital product content
    • Experience with SEO optimization is required
    • Experience with digital asset management and content management systems is preferred
    • Demonstrated writing and editorial sensibilities required
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask independently
